Our Thankful Tree

Hi Friends!!

Ta-Daa!!! I actually did it!  I made my own Thankful Tree* and I'm just pleased as punch with how it turned out!

I raided my scrap box for paper and ribbons (I never throw any scraps away), and found a branch at Hobby Lobby on sale for $1.99. I love that all of the paper is leftover from last year's fall mini album. Aren't the patterns and colors awesome?
I had to borrow John's big 'ole loppers to trim down my branch before I could begin.  I think I cut off about 10 inches of stem.  I used a glass vase I already owned and surrounded the stem with my vintage white button collection.

Yesterday we each filled out a few leaves.

My hope is that by Thanksgiving, the backs of all of the leaves will be filled with all the things we are thankful for.  I plan on keeping the leaves and then making a blessings book out of them once the holidays are over.
Have a wonderful day!

XO,
Vicki

PS  I've got to tell you, in real life I don't think I've ever said, "pleased as punch."  : )

PPS I'm linking up with Heather over at Life Made Lovely and Amanda at The Modern Marigold.

*My Tree was completely inspired by this lovely one I blogged about last week.  I first spotted it on pinterest.
