Project Life {April!}

 Hi Friends!

Woo-Hoo!  There's been a whole lot of Project Life going on around here lately!  I moved some of my favorite supplies up to the family room so I can work on it and be around the kids.  I seem to work better when they are around.  As an extra bonus, the mess drives me crazy, so it makes me want to get caught up so I can take it all back down to my craft room.  : )  I am still completely loving this project.
 For us, April 8-14 was dominated by Raffi's 17th birthday and my parent's visit.  It was fun getting to celebrate with Raffi.  She was so excited about her birthday, and I loved watching her open her gifts.  For Emily, this was the week she went to NYC with the band.  The original band trip was scheduled in November, but then Hurricane Sandy hit, so it got moved to April.  I plan on having Emily do an insert of the trip highlights that I can stick in to this week.
Mom and Dad's visit corresponded with the annual Big Brothers/Big Sister's antique show.  Dad tries to come up each year for the show--we always find the best treasures there!  This year, I scored the little typewriter tins, a cute camera, and that fabulous pennant.  I spent about $35 total.  It was a good day!
April 15-21 was show week at the high school.  Both Emily and Maddie were on the sound crew.  I didn't see either one of them until the Thursday night performance (seriously).  This year's comedy was The Government Inspector, and it was completely charming.  I loved it.

 Raffi had a little birthday party on Saturday night, and I had fun making her another cake.  I didn't count, but I'm pretty sure there were at least 852 dots on her cake.  : )

Spring finally arrived up here in Wisconsin on April 22-28, and we celebrated by breaking out the fire pit.  Jack had 5 of his friends over and they roasted hot dogs and made s'mores.
Raffi finally (!) got to play a lacrosse game that week.  Our cold/wet spring has really delayed her season.  It was so fun to watch her play--she is awesome!  We are so proud of Raffi--she had never played lacrosse before, and she made the varsity team!
 We ran from Raffi's lacrosse game to Emily's solo and ensemble performance that Saturday.  That night, we went to a fish fry at Amy's house.  It was a full, fabulous day!
 I am still working on using up my stash, and I have officially run out of red "e's".  I had to create my own:

Whew!  That was a whole lot of Project Life!  I plan on finishing up last week this afternoon, and then I'll be all caught up again (hooray!).  Thanks for looking!

XO,

Vicki

  5. I really love how bright your layouts are - the contrast with the brights & white is so appealing. I also moved some of my supplies upstairs so I could craft around my kids - what a difference that makes.

  7. As always I love your PL pages. I think it looks great that you have used so much white - it really makes the other colors pop! I also love the way you have created your own "e". :) Great idea. :)
    It's fun to see how active your kids are - thanks for sharing.
